Statement from the Supreme National Security Council of Iran
On Wednesday morning (the 8th), the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) of Iran issued a statement announcing that, acting on the recommendation of the Supreme Leader and with the council's approval, it has accepted the ceasefire proposal put forward by Pakistan.
The SNSC stated that almost all of Iran’s objectives in the current conflict have been achieved, asserting that the enemy has suffered a "historic and complete defeat." The statement further noted that Iran will "continue the struggle until the great achievements are consolidated and a new security and political landscape is established in the region." A decision has been made to hold negotiations in Islamabad to finalize details, with the aim of "securing the fruits of victory through political negotiations within a maximum of 15 days."
The SNSC declared that Iran has rejected all plans proposed by the opposing side and has instead formulated a ten-point plan, which was submitted to the United States through Pakistan.
Key Pillars of the Ten-Point Plan:
-
Hormuz Strait Control: Coordination with Iranian Armed Forces to control passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
-
Cessation of Hostilities: An end to the war against all members of the "Axis of Resistance" and the termination of "aggression by the Israeli regime."
-
U.S. Military Withdrawal: The withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from all bases and deployment sites across the region.
-
Security Protocols: Establishment of secure transit protocols in the Strait of Hormuz, ensuring Iran’s dominant role.
-
Reparations: Full compensation for Iranian losses based on formal assessments.
-
Sanctions Relief: The lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions, as well as relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
-
Asset Release: The release of all Iranian assets and property currently frozen overseas.
-
Legal Enforcement: All aforementioned points must be ratified in a binding UN Security Council resolution.
