The Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) announced today that, in response to changes in international tariff policies and global economic conditions, it is implementing a project commissioned by the International Trade Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs to strengthen Taiwan’s key position in the global supply chain of functional textiles. As part of this effort, TTF led local companies to participate in the PERFORMANCE DAYS functional textiles fair in Munich, Germany. With enthusiastic business discussions between exhibitors and buyers, the event is expected to generate follow-up business opportunities worth approximately USD 1 million (about NT$30.89 million).
According to TTF, this year’s exhibition focused on sustainable development in functional textiles, highlighting the “Textile-to-Textile” (T2T) recycling model. It attracted environmental experts, textile suppliers, and international brand representatives from around the world to discuss the latest technologies and market trends in functional textiles. Taiwanese companies impressed the international community with their outstanding innovation and R&D in sustainability, effectively showcasing the green competitiveness of Taiwan’s textile industry and expanding its presence in the European functional textile market.
TTF noted that Taiwan’s Functional Textiles Pavilion stood out by gathering eight high-quality upstream, midstream, and downstream companies showcasing over 800 product items, presenting innovative technologies and R&D achievements in the field of low-carbon, sustainable functional textiles. During the exhibition, the pavilion drew attention from international brands from Europe and beyond, including British luxury brand Burberry, British workwear brand Arbortec, Italian golf brand Chervò, and German e-commerce outdoor brand Berg Freunde, all of whom expressed strong interest in Taiwanese companies’ innovative technologies and products.
TTF emphasized that the success of this exhibition once again highlights Taiwan’s leading position in the global functional textile industry. Going forward, TTF will continue to collaborate with domestic industry players to promote low-carbon and sustainable development, actively expand global markets, and create more international business opportunities for Taiwan’s textile sector.
