The American aerospace giant "Boeing" announced 10% of its global layoffs last year. Among them, employees involved in the Space Launch System (SLS) were expected to lay off 400 people. After communicating with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the exact number was finally released.
The report pointed out that on February 19, it was revealed that The Boeing Company issued layoff notices to about 200 employees involved in the Space Launch System (SLS) because the contract with NASA will expire in March and the possibility of renewal is low.
In fact, Boeing expected to lay off about 400 employees before April to deal with budget and cost issues for the Artemis lunar landing program (Artemis program). However, after communicating with NASA, the number of layoffs was eventually reduced to 200. SLS executives also informed employees via email.
