The Textile Expansion Association said today that in order to assist textile manufacturers to strengthen their expansion into overseas markets and implement the "Textile Integrated Marketing and Business Opportunity Development Plan" commissioned by the International Trade Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, 23 sales expansion activities have been conducted in the first half of 2024, with a total of 190 visits. Industry participants’ participation in the event is expected to generate potential business opportunities of more than US$35 million (approximately NT$1.13 billion).
This year, the Textile Industry Association has selected 44 companies to participate in the program and receive coaching, targeting mature markets such as Europe, the United States, and Japan, as well as new southbound markets such as Australia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. The planning team will assist the companies in reaching the target markets. Expand sales and negotiate with buyers coming to Taiwan in order to expand domestic export capacity of sustainable functional textiles.
The Textile Association has observed that in the first half of 2024, more than 10 buyers from the target market have taken flights to Taiwan to negotiate with Chinese industry players. This highlights the innovative energy of Taiwan's textile industry and has deepened international buyers' awareness of China's sustainable functional textiles. Awareness level, when implementing the plan, the Textile Industry Association held activities including participating in important international professional exhibitions and business matchmaking meetings, as well as new product and new technology launches, and also organized groups to visit the headquarters of international brands.
The Textile Industry Association emphasized that digital marketing is even more important in the post-epidemic era. Therefore, Chinese industry players are also assisting in promoting companies and products through social media to properly operate the international production and marketing value chain. In the first half of this year alone, we have already The international community promoted 12 industry highlights, and exposed them on YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and other platforms through 8 short videos and 31 highlight copywriting, with a total of more than 37,000 views, gaining market response.
According to trade data released by the customs, my country's textile export value increased by 16.5% year-on-year in June, and the overall textile export value in the first half of the year increased by 1.2% year-on-year. It is planned to continue to conduct 30 sales promotion activities in the second half of the year, including small-scale mobile sales promotion groups, joint promotions at international exhibitions, joint negotiation groups, inviting buyers to Taiwan purchasing groups, etc., in order to continue to strengthen the integrated marketing advantages of Taiwan's textile industry and assist Taiwan. As the international market recovers, the chain strives for global textile business opportunities.
