Google today announced that the new submarine cable "Apricot" will connect Japan, Guam, the Philippines, Taiwan, Singapore and Indonesia. It is expected to be officially launched in 2024, greatly enhancing the flexibility of Google Cloud and digital services for Internet users.
Google’s official blog stated that "Apricot" is the latest project in Google’s global submarine cable investment plan. The cable system provides multiple access channels in Asia and even runs through South Asia, greatly enhancing the flexibility of Google Cloud and digital services for Internet users.
Google pointed out that the two cables will provide Asian enterprises and startups with lower latency network services, more abundant bandwidth, and make network connections between Southeast Asia, North Asia and the United States more stable and more flexible.
At present, Google has invested in 18 submarine cables, 27 Cloud Regions and 82 Cloud Zones in the world.
